Yes you can stop motion sickness before it starts with a prescription for transdermal patch.

“That patch saved our trip. I didn’t get sick and we had a great time” – Tad F.

Do any of these describe you?

  • Do you love the idea of a whale watch or snorkel tour, but dread the thought of getting sick while on the boat?
  • Are you one of those people who make sure the barf bag is within reach every time you board a helicopter or small plane?
  • Have you ever had to ask the driver to pull over for fear you may lose your lunch before the scheduled stop?

You’re Not Alone

Motion sickness affects a large percentage of our population – you are not alone.

When our body perceives motion, we have numerous different sensors that provide our brain with information about where we are in space and time. When the information from these sensors are in conflict with one another, we can feel nauseated, dizzy, and tired, just to name a few. For example, when some sensors tell us our body is moving forward in a car, but our eyes are scanning the horizon on a different plane and then another sensor is perceiving that we are moving laterally as if around turns – yikes! How confusing. Makes one feel ill just thinking about it.

What can we do about this? Limit our precious life experiences? No!

It’s best to try to prevent motion sickness, because symptoms are hard to stop after they start.

Over the counter medications like Dramamine and Bonine sometimes work but make most people drowsy and give others a dry mouth. Ginger, some essential oils, and acupressure type wrist bands also work, but only some of the time.
